Next Step FC and BPVE

The media sponsorship deal with BPVE will not only see the up and coming publication become the official partner of Next Step FC, but also appear as an official sponsor on the back of the clubs shirts.

Speaking about the partnership Next Step FC coach Charlie Pomroy told us “We are really excited about this partnership as we believe BPVE will be able to help get our name out there in the press and media in the coming season. Much like us they are new and hungry and we could not hope for a better media partner”. With a statement by BPVE adding that the partnership would “help improve each others commercial profile within both the Cambodian and international sports markets”.

BPVE.com were founded by ex Ex-SaxoBank CFD/FX Specialist Kelvin Law in 2022, with Kelvin stating he started the company due to his “love” of the industry. The company which stands for “Brilliant Press Vendor” will initially focus on promoting Cambodian sports on the world stage, with plans to expand with BPVETV.com as well into the broader world of local, regional and international news.

Next Step FC and Desportol

Perhaps of equal if not more importance was the deal inked with Desportol. The partnership, which was also announced at the same event will see the self-styled “sports fashion brand” becoming the official kit sponsor of Next Step FC.

The deal will not only see the up and coming sports brand provide the home and away shirts for Next Step FC, but also the training kits, as well as replica kits which will be sold to the general public through the desportol.com platform.

In a statement about the deal Pomroy added “As well as kits the partnership will also provide us with everyday sportswear for our coaches and perhaps most excitingly a club shop in Phnom Penh where our fans will be able to purchase Next Step FC products at a physical location, as well as online for our international fans”.

Despite being in the second-tier Next Step FC have a large global following, as evidenced through their active Facebook page.

As part of the deal Desportol will also have the ability to utilize the Khmer players of Next Step FC for commercial purposes, something which according to Pomroy was “massively underused” in Cambodian football

Desportol who were founded in 2020 and describe themselves as a “new sports brand” have equally been making waves within Cambodia, after signing a number of sponsorship deals with major foreign and domestic players within the Kingdom.

Huge Step for Next Step

After signing the deal Coach Pomroy stated that it was, no pun intended, a “huge step for Next Step” adding “Whilst we struggled last year I have constantly said this was due to lack of time given for preparation. Now we have the time. This has not only meant we have been able to sign fresh talent, but also forge the commercial deals that will lead us to success, such as with BPVE and Desportol, both of whom we feel have the same ambition and desire as us. Our next step commercially will be to find a main shirt sponsor for the club, although we also have many other partnership opportunities available”

Next Step FC recently announced the appointment of experienced English coach Callum Brooks, which you can read about here.

The Memorandum of Undertakings (MOUs) will start now and run through the duration of the 2023-24 Cambodian Premier League season, with Coach Pomroy confident success could also be found on the field stating “At a bare minimum we are aiming to be pushing for promotion, but ideally we want to be champions”.
