Interview with Pheap Chan David of Angkor Tiger FC

One of the most promising young forwards in Khmer football, Pheap Chan David has been at Angkor Tiger since he was 14 years old. With the club currently going through a difficult time, we went to talk to him about his hopes for himself and the club in the coming season.

Pheap Chan David – you signed for Tiger back in 2018 at the age of 14, how did that feel?

I’m so happy to got contract with a big club in Siem Reap.

You were released by the club after breaking your leg and then rejoined at the start of last season, why did you decide to go back?

At first I thought I could not play, but when I was a child, I wanted to play with love and dreams from a young age, and then there was the Hun Sen Cup, Mr. Yusuke to try to join, the teacher has already signed up to play. The leg injury at the time was good and I have been training on my own until now.

Alistair joined the club with a reputation for working with youth, how has he improved you as a player?

He motivates players and provides opportunities for young people in tournaments to gain experience on the field.

The League Cup has been poor for Tiger, what’s the feeling like inside the club right now?

Because the old players left, only the young ones were left and the coach was not happy with the result, he thought football was not for the kids, it was important that we dared to play with their team and he thought we could Done.

The PPC game, what was said at half time?

In the second half there was a change of players and he said no we have to stop, we have to work hard to the end and we have to do our best, even if we are young players and forget about it in the second half. 1 and the second half, we can get 1 back

Your targets for the season ahead?
