Bruno was a key player for Next Step FC last year, not only managing to be their top scorer with 10 of their 17 league goals, but also scoring arguably the best goal not just in Cambodia, but potentially the whole world in 2022.

You can see that goal here.

Why was he going to leave?

After shining in a season where Next Step FC struggled, as well as scoring THAT goal Bruno attracted the attention of a number of Coach Charlie Pomroy of Next Step FC telling us “We had a gentlemen’s agreement where we would not stand in his way if we wished to move clubs, particularly with there being such a big break between seasons.

With that being said we know how ambitious we are as a club and obviously want Bruno, who truly is a great guy to be part of that. We feel he’s happy in Siem Reap, as well as with us and we are confident you will see him in a Next Step FC shirt next year”.

What is happening at Next Step FC?

Despite their lowly finish last year the club have been making some big moved both on and off the pitch. Last month the club announced a media sponsorship deal with BPVE.com, as well as a kit sponsorship deal with sports fashion brand Desportol.

The club have also hired English coach Calum Brooks, with other signings and announcements “imminent” according to Pomroy who has stated his belief the club will be challenging for honors in the 2023-24 season, rather than battling it out at the bottom.
