Footballs coming home – C-League to resume in July

Good news for football fans, not only are we in the midst of Euro 2020 heaven, but we have the C-League to resume again in July.

The embattled Metfone C-League, the top level of professional football in Cambodia has had what can only be described as a stop-start season due to the Covid-19 outbreak, but after a month break for World Cup qualifiers the league is making a comeback.

When will C-League matches resume?

The first matches of the resumed Metfone C-League season are set to begin on the weekend of Saturday 3rd July, with matches then taking place every few days for the next couple of months as the league tries to catch up on missed fixtures.

Can fans watch live football in Cambodia again?

While we might have seen full stadiums from our TV screens in Cambodia at he Euro’s, alas this will not be the case for the C-League, at least initially, with sporting events still considered high-risk. This will mean only essential staff being permitted into the games, with even those having to have received a vaccine, as well as testing negative before the match.

Games and highlights will though as always be available on BTV, as well as the various online streaming channels if you really need to get your C-League fix.
